To better serve the community, the St George Town Council has resolved to develop a Town Plan for St. George to offer a vision for the future and set a course for action. This will be done in full consultation with the residents, businesses and community groups of St George. Take the survey below under Getting Started.
This is a Plan that will consider how the built, social, economic and natural environments within the town can best be managed to meet the needs of the community, today and into the future. It can explore subjects such as economic growth, infrastructure, housing, historic resources, public safety, transportation, arts and culture, social and environmental issues, and identify potential financing mechanisms.
This Strategic Plan can help the people of St George agree how they want the Town to look and function in the future and define how to achieve this by identifying and prioritising the issues and opportunities. This Plan will need to fit in with other plans such as the World Heritage Site Management Plan.
The St George Town Council has engaged Bermuda Environmental Consulting Ltd. (BECLtd) to assist with the development of the Strategic Plan. To do this we need to understand what you feel about your town, what works, what doesn’t, and how you’d like to see it looking and functioning in the future. In this way, we can identify issues, the needs and the desires of the community, which will help set priorities and the actions needed to meet these. So please take the survey - it should take about 15-20 minutes. (You can only take it once). Thank you!
Council recognises that the success of any such Plan requires the engagement of the whole community. This is critical to ensure that the plan is relevant, integrated and most essentially, inspires and motivates positive community development. This is why we need your input! Please take the survey and help us make this Strategic Plan work for everyone.
